In this game, you never know when Mr. Market’s gonna throw a tantrum. One day it’s sunshine, the next—storm. That’s why we stay sharp. When opportunity knocks, you might only get two hours to act. Your axe better be ready.

So what does it really mean to be prepared as an investor?

First—get your mindset straight. Know your strategy cold. Trust it enough to stick with it, even when the market tries to shake you out. Study the past. Learn how people behave when fear takes over. Bubbles, panic, euphoria—it’s all part of the cycle. But if you’re grounded, you won’t flinch.

Next, build my watchlist. Find great companies before the market turns. Do the research now, while things are calm. Because when prices drop, I won’t have time to “get ready”—I’ll need to move. The best opportunities don’t wait around for me to finish my homework. Be ready, or be left behind.

And finally, prepare financially. If I want to capitalize on Mr. Market’s mood swings, I’ll need cash on hand. Create a steady passive income stream so I’m always ready.

I don’t know when the opportunity to chop down a great tree will come—or how much time I’ll have. But there’s no reason I can’t start sharpening my axe today.
